From:Beijing Emergency Medical Center
Date:08/11/2014
The situation of being bitten by a snake always happens in places where snakes appear, so we must pay more attention to it in taking a field trip by striking with a branch before entering into wood grass to act rashly and alert the snake so as to avoid being bitten.

If you are bitten by snakes carelessly, don’t run around, otherwise, the blood circulation would accelerate, deepening the degree of intoxication; you should lower the part bitten as much as possible, strap as soon as possible the injured limbs to prevent and delay absorption of the venom by the body, ligature the wound 5 cm away from the proximal end, be careful not to ligature too tight to avoid affecting blood supply of limbs and relax the ligature for 1-2 minutes every 15-30 minutes. Rinse the wound with plenty of water and examine if there is any broken poison fang left in the wound, remove it, if any.

Be careful not to absorb venom with your mouth so as to prevent the venom from entering into the blood through the wound of oral mucosa. After carrying out emergency treatment, send the wounded person to a hospital for further treatment rapidly.
